Baby Wetsuit
This session feels especially close to my heart because it was photographed during one of the seasons I when I recently lived in Portugal. You might notice the different foliage and the hint of beach in the distance. That soft, coastal light is something I still dream about.
I photographed this couple and their three-month-old baby at the baby’s grandparents’ home near Quarteira, where they were staying for a visit. It was one of those effortless, sun-filled days that naturally invited everyone outside. We moved between the garden and the pool, letting the pace of the morning guide us instead of forcing any kind of schedule.
And yes… baby had a tiny wetsuit so he could warmly take a dip. A baby in a wetsuit is absolutely adorable.
There was plenty of tummy time, slow feeding, tiny stretches, and long cuddles. Eventually, everything softened into nap time. The bedroom light was unreal — creamy, quiet, and gentle — the kind of light photographers chase without even trying.
Baby stayed asleep as dad carefully lowered him into his bed, every movement slow and intentional, not wanting to disturb the peace. A bouncy ball helped ease him into sleep beforehand, and for a few quiet moments, the entire house felt like it was holding its breath.
These are the moments I love most: unhurried, unscripted, real.
